Value for Cultivation and Use

The genotype CRI-11(9)-3 was preferred by farmers due to its taste. It is early maturing and resistant/ tolerant to most cowpea pests. It flowers from 35-42 days after planting and matures in 62-65 days. It is tolerant to most cowpea diseases especially Cercospora Leaf spot disease and Antracnose.
